| Gaye Grant |
Gaye Grant lives in Buncrana, where she has her quilt design studio, The Fennel Shed . Gaye has been fascinated by fabric, colour, & patterns since childhood, & has designed & taught for ten years, helping her students to achieve their full potential.
Gaye made her first quilt over thirty years ago, long before classes, books, craft magazines or craft fabric were widely available in Ireland, and before the rotary cutter was even invented! These early years of “muddling through” gave her the opportunity to develop design skills which have stood her in good stead ever since.
Having spent the last ten years teaching, she has encountered again and again the difficulties faced by new and improving quilters. These can be condensed into three main areas: dislike of cutting, lack of confidence in colour selection and fear of mathematics! To address these stumbling blocks, she has developed a range of patterns which make use of “Charm Rolls” - strips of fabric, colour groups, all cut and ready to sew.
A selection of these designs will be taught during the Irish Country Quilting workshops in Dunfanaghy.

Karin Boal was born in South Africa, and is married to a native Letterkenny man. Her hobby was always sewing. She fell in love with the special sewing techniques of Jenny Raiment a few years ago. This technique consists of beautifully arranged and manipulated fabric. Karin is convinced that this technique will give you endless possibilities. She is now completely infected with the quilting bug, and is teaching at several places in the North West of Ireland. She will explore with you the effects of colour schemes in the Diamonds are Forever pattern (one of which can be seen behind her on the wall).

Another recent addition to our talented line-up of teachers, Anne will be teaching her lovely Celtic interlace design wall hangings. Anne always enjoyed sewing and crafts. She came to Pauline's Country Quilts seven years agao whilst on holiday, got hooked and the rest is history! She has tutored classes both in Pauline's and in Mission Hall Quilts in Derry and enjoys the challenges and the company of quilters very much. Quilting has not become her complete addiction yet, but who knows ....
